I am currently working on a collection inspired by the time spent on our Catalina 30, Alki. My husband and I bought a down-on-its-luck sailboat and put in seemingly endless hours of work into fixing her up until we finally moved aboard and spent the summer and fall sailing around the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands. We spent our second season exploring further North to Desolation Sound, and down to Seattle for excursions with friends. In this collection, I decided to try an entirely different medium and technique from what I'd ever done before. Each painting will be made with acrylic paint diluted in locally-sourced water.
